I guess one of the very important things that I should learn to do in the coming days is the ability to say no gracefully. You can say that I am a yes man, in fact I was quite proud of it until recently. Being an yes man has been quite a positive thing for me so far, until I continuously ended up hurting my plans by saying yes. And the first time I said a NO, even I felt it kind of being rude andย the other person ended up taking it personal. I think it will take me some time to not to be guilty about it. So just in case I am saying No to you next time, its not anything personal, but its just that I have something else more important to do. I sincerely do hope you would understand.
Yes-man-turns-no-man. Welcome, again!
The art of saying ‘ NO’ is a must in a corporate world. I had the same feeling initially and used to take all that was thrown at me , the result of which was a complete burnout . I had to take some effort in telling ‘No’. I hope you master this soon.
@vegpuff: Thanks ๐
@Sharad: I hope too, I feel safe that I am not alone !

Not sure if I’m in the say NO to NO team..
I don’t want to start a war here, but two facts ๐
1. Yahoo could’ve bought Google, but it said NO..
2. Yahoo could’ve bought DoubleClick, but it said NO and Google bought it.
Probably, we need to take care even when saying no ๐
Oh yeah, also add facebook to the list..
So, ideally it is all about saying the right NO and right YES.. The question I want to pose here is, how do we figure whether what we are saying are YES or NO unless we say YES and burn our fingers for the first time??
totally agree with u .. at times i feel so !
@satya: agree to what? Yes/No?
lol..
@hari: true dude, but the point suren is making is about saying right NO… its difficult to say right NO bcoz of our habit of pleasing ppl and harming ourselves manyatimes… I remember one nice quote i read sometime,
“I don’t know the key to success,
but the key to failure is to please others.”
I heard some where “Innovation starts by saying NO”,Yes man is Windows man and No man is Linux man. . . Please enable comments in this http://learning-by-doing.tumblr.com.
